Aggravated Assault - Charges - Alice Springs

Police have charged a 33-year-old man in relation the alleged aggravated assault of his partner.

Acting Sergeant Caragh Hen said Police allege the male assaulted the 31-year-old woman on three separate occasions between April and June.

“Alice Springs Police arrested the 33-year-old man on Wednesday.

“Police charged the man yesterday with three counts of aggravated assault and going armed with an offensive weapon. He was also served a Domestic Violence Order."

He was remanded in custody and will appear in Alice Springs Magistrates Court today.

“Domestic violence will not be tolerated. We continue to encourage members of the public to take a stand against this unacceptable behaviour and report all acts of domestic violence to the Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000,” Acting Sergeant Hen said.
