Natural Disaster Resilience Program
In 2009, a four year National Partnership Agreement on Natural Disaster Resilience (NPA) was agreed to by the Commonwealth and States and Territories, forming the Natural Disaster Resilience Program (NDRP). The 2015-17 NPA has been finalised in October 2016, expiring June 2017 and backdated to commence July 2015. The NDRP is a grant funding program that encourages governments to work together with volunteers, the private sector and non-government organisations in an effort to enhance Australian communities' resilience to natural disasters. Northern Territory Emergency Service administers the Natural Disaster Resilience Program on behalf of the Northern Territory Government.
